Saber~Cow: Daily Posts Update
Sep 3rd
From now on I plan to post something daily. In laymen’s terms: everyday there will be a new post. Get it? Good.
Now Some of you may see this post as cheating. So I will fix this by adding some info on what we’re up to here at Saber~Cow.
We are finally completely settled in our new office. (Office meaning dorm room). All the tech works and is ready for movie making.
We’ve finished the first draft of all the of scripts for our “Halo: Reach” series. (Title will be unveiled at the end of September)
We bought a second microphone for better voice acting sessions.
We also have plans for 1 or 2 more Halo: Reach series and we are brainstorming other ideas. (These series will be completed).
Clan~Wars Season 2 wont happen for a while. If it ever does. It become mostly a practice series. Getting used to recording, voicing, editing, etc.
That’s about it. See ya’ll tomorrow.
LITERAL Trailer: Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
Sep 2nd
Tobuscus made another LITERAL trailer. This one’s pretty epic, too.
It really is one of those things we never would have thought of but is freaking brilliant. Props, Tobuscus. Props
Apple iPod update 2010
Sep 1st
That’s right. Apple released iPods. Updated iPods.

This includes:
an iPod Touch with everything the iPhone 4 has… except the phone.
a new nano that has only a multi-touch display. No buttons
a shuffle that is basically the shuffle before the stick-of-gum shuffle. (It has buttons. Rejoice.)
iTunes 10 (though it’s not available yet)
and a new Apple TV.
This is where I say, “What the ****, Apple. Nobody ever bought the Apple TV. Why did you make a new one?”
Moving on: The most significant part of this update is what was not announced. There have been rumors floating around the internet about a possible 7 inch iPad. While some my find that to be a stupid iDea (see what i did there?), I thought it seemed plausible. In some cases the iPad is just too big, In others, the iPhone/iPod, is too small. a mini iPad would have been good for a nice compromise.
Thought I still don’t care. I want to see the iPad 2. and maybe a new iPod Classic? What’s wrong with the click-wheel guys? It’s what made the iPod a huge success! MAKE A CLICKWHEEL OPTION FOR THE iPHONE! PLEASE!
ok that’s all I got.
Now to go back to waiting for REACH, G-Mod for Mac, Portal 2, and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Adios!
Oh. and happy September.
Global Warming is the least of their worries.

Apple: Snow Leopard Graphics Update 1.0
Aug 17th
Today, Apple released the Snow Leopard Graphics Update 1.0.
it should fix a lot of gaming issues specifically in Team Fortress 2 and Portal.
We’ll be testing it later to find out if this is true.
My iMac’s Specifications: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 ghz, 4 gig 800mhz RAM, ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro (256 VRAM) All these games were played in windowed mode at 1024×640 or 1280×800
After much testing (playing games on my mac) I discovered that this update works wonders. So let’s go down the list:
Half-Life 2/ Portal/ Team Fortress 2/ Counter-Strike: Source/ Day of Defeat Source: Huge frame rate boost, I was able to actually reach a cap of frames per second at 297 where I used to get half that. Also lighting seems… better?
Killing Floor: I haven’t found a way to display a numerical value of the frames per second in Killing Floor yet but I did notice an increase of FPS during intense ammounts of fighting compared to before.
Bioshock: Definite increase in the FPS of the game. I can have my shaders up higher without dropping to 20-30 frames per second. (THough 20-30 gives bioshock that old movie feel which is kind of nice)
Call of Duty 2: I can now have extreme effects on without a significant loss of frames per second. (There’s still some)
Call of Duty 4: Didn’t notice an increase but I’m sure a new iMac would have seen a boost if it was having issues.
Halo Demo: Actually Halo Demo seemed to suffer a bit in performance. Yes, fps is boosted when there’s no action in the scene but Silent cartographer stayed at around 30-40 fps when fighting. Maybe someday I’ll get the Intel version. I still have the PPC demo…
Well that’s all I got for you now.
Peace
ViDoc: A Spartan Will Rise
Aug 17th
This new video from Bungie actually gives us some insight into the mysterious bubble of Halo: Reach.
The tone is set and the characters are officially introduced along with their various character traits. (much like the ODST intro video but oh well. It’s still cool.)
Can’t wait for September 14th.
New(!) GarrysMod.com
Aug 17th
Hey everyone! Garry’s Mod (.com) just got updated and looks a lot prettier!
This is for two reasons:
1: Garry made everything pretty
2: Garry will only be posting Official news for Garry’s Mod
All that community stuff is getting set up on a new website that we don’t know the name of yet.
I can only satisfy my mac-love by saying that in the process of adding Garry’s Mod to the Mac platform that Garry’s internal design instincts were awakened and it has caused this transformation.
If only he’d release Gmod for mac. Some day… some day…
