Today’s stream went a little rougher than most. Partially because we had a new Director. But we also had a camera operator who didn’t seem to have the cameras 100% by the time we were ready to go. There was also a bit where I didn’t cut quick enough and we saw the floor director crawl through the shot. We are getting closer though.
I was at the point where I was ready to punch any shot the director wanted especially ones I wasn’t prepared for. I think the board is finally feeling natural.
Today felt a little more disjointed than last week. But we once again did double boxes as well as an over-the-shoulder box for one of the stories. Both of these went very well. There was only one part where I mis-punched but that was because I wasn’t informed of what camera we were going to and the directions were getting confused between the director and what was actually printed. I’ll have to listen more carefully in the future.
It’s finally done. At long last.
If you are unaware, I chose to run a little every day for the last month. Bad idea. I’ve never run a continuous mile in my life and it was my goal to do so by the end of the month. I was going to do so by running a little bit every day until I couldn’t run anymore or felt tired.
I didn’t quite make it there but here are some stats of how much a did run:
Longest run: .43 miles
Shortest run: .1 miles
Average speed: 11’32″/mi
Total distance run through the month: 6.8 miles
This concludes my experiment. I didn’t reach my goal but I think I’ve run more this month than the entirety of my life. I enjoy running much more than previously. I look to revisit my progress in a year. See just how far I can go.
Today we did our first set of double boxes for the show. After a few minutes was able to duplicate what I had seen set up for me before the last stream. I punched the show without error this time. A first. This board is becoming quite fun
Well today we were going to introduce a new level to the TD board. I was honestly a bit worried since this was a much further level of comfort than I was used to on the board. Normally I’m gung-ho about trying new things with technology but these web-streams are at least partially riding on my level of skill with the switch board. I feel I’m coming off a bit nervous. I’m really not. I gladly do my job and am excited to man the board.
That being said I miss-punched a CG about 2/3rds of the way through the show. I was doing so good too… Oh well. I’m that much closer to mastering it.
